Should I forgive my boyfriend?

After a discreet argument - I say discreet because we never raised our voices (we were in a restaurant) - the mood diminished significantly to the point that my boyfriend laid his money on the table and rather rudely walked out on me. I felt so embarred sitting there by myself that I quickly paid the bill and then left. But despite the dispute, which was annoying but could have been easily resolved, I'm more upset that he walked out on me. Is this forgivable? Personally, I'm still in shock over the whole ordeal as no one has ever done that to me before?
