What's "Remote Play" on my PSP for?

I can connect to my PS3 but all it does is use it as a controler! The only difference is that it lets me whach videos that are on my PS3. (I tried puting those videos on my PSP but they're HD so it says "unsuported data") Are there some games that are specifically made for "remote play"?
