Would you be upset if......?

Would anyone be upset if your friend called your boyfriend a molester? Because my one friend called my other friend's boyfriend a molester and said because she said that that she couldn't be friends with her anymore. And by the way a different friend of mine said that the same friend's boyfriend was a rapist (he isn't) and she is still friends with her. I just don't understand what the difference is and why she is so upset with one friend but not the other. What would you do?
