Need an accurate description of blood?

So I'm writing this story, and I need to know quite a bit about blood. (The character's bones often come ripping out of his skeletal structure to impale people.) Lovely. As it punctures flesh, would it gush, or splatter? Is it warm? How warm? Sticky? Does it stain? What color is it? Is there a smell? Note that I am talking about gushes of blood, not paper cuts. And sorry if this is a ridiculously morbid question xD Please include any other details.
