Why can't I get a job when I've held the same job for 10 years?
I am currently working part time at a veterinary office, where I have been for the past 10 years. I'm seeking full time work and have been doing so for a long time, but no one ever calls me for an interview. Pizza Hut, at one point said I am over qualified to work there for some reason. I don't know why with my solid work history that I wouldn't qualify to work at Pizza Hut. One area pizza hut says they are in a hiring freeze even though it is on their website that they are hiring at that location. I was told by the manager at one job I applied for that he would call me back, but never did and now the the Sports grill is open. A buddy of mine has had like ten different jobs he's worked for in the past and has recently gotten a job before I have and is working at a gas station with a lot of hours, he is a good worker though. I always call companies up and say that I've filled out an application and am available to work anytime, but they never call me. Why with my solid work history and me being an honest and dependable worker, hasn't any manager call me in for a job? What am I doing wrong? I know the economy is not doing well, but there are people who haven't had a solid work history like mine and aren't honest people getting jobs before I do. I mean, I haven't even gotten calls back from fast food places, and see companies that have the still hiring on the internet for a month, so why don't they call me?
